The Regeneration Program: Halfway update

It feels only a moment ago that we gathered for the launch of The Regeneration Program last November, just before the start of the Regenerative Ecosystem Day. The space was filled with powerful ideas, the energy was high, and the intention was clear: to explore how entrepreneurship can contribute to people and planet, and help shape a net-positive system. Now, halfway through the program, that intention is beginning to take form in meaningful ways.

Phase one: Reconnecting with purpose

Following the kick-off, the cohort moved into the first phase of the journey through three core workshops: Vision & Roadmapping, Systems Thinking & Partnerships, and Storytelling. Together, these three workshops were designed to help the cohort reconnect with why they started their organisations, and what regeneration truly means for their work.

They explored their long-term purpose, and how it connects to their place, their community, and the wider ecosystem. Across the sessions, this translated into practical work on clarifying focus, priorities, and goals, understanding their work as part of interconnected systems, and turning their efforts and mission into clear, compelling stories that can engage diverse, wider audiences.

Emerging within the Cohort: Connection and community

One of the strongest emerging themes so far is the sense of connection within the group. Several founders describe the cohort as a space where they can meet others with a similar mindset, motivation, and stage of development. For some, this has been a refreshing shift from past experiences with entrepreneurship programmes.

Rowin Snijder from Compostier shares that he initially joined with a certain level of caution. Previous programmes had left him with the feeling that more energy often goes into those that “support startups” than into supporting the startups themselves. What convinced him to give this one a chance was the regenerative theme, and the opportunity to engage with others who are driven by similar values. So far, what stands out most for him is the cohort itself: the sense of community, and the relationships developing between participants.

What comes next: Applying the work

Building on this foundation of connection and shared reflection, the program now moves into a more applied phase. In the coming months, the cohort will deepen their work through sessions on governance and finance, impact measurement, regenerative culture, and due diligence and investor role play, strengthening both how their organisations operate and how they engage with the wider ecosystem.

Alongside the group sessions, each organisation will take part in 1:1 expert coaching on topics such as branding and go-to-market strategy, finance, impact measurement, and governance and stewardship. In the coming months, we will work alongside these organisations as they refine their strategies, stress-test their business models, and explore collaborations with investors, corporates, researchers, and fellow entrepreneurs, leading up to Demo Day.

Summarizing, the first half of The Regeneration Program has been less about quick answers and more about building the conditions for stronger, more deliberate choices. The cohort has created a shared space for reflection and mutual learning, where purpose can be sharpened and assumptions can be tested in good company. As the work continues, the challenge, and the opportunity, is to carry that clarity into everyday decisions, so regeneration is not only a theme of the program, but a lived practice within each organisation.

If you’re interested in partnering with the cohort or with our Regenerative Ecosystem – as an investor, corporate innovation partner, research collaborator, or ecosystem ally – we’d love to connect. This is just the first cohort of The Regeneration Program, and it already shows how powerful regeneration can be when it moves from theory into practice.
