ABOUT FOOD CHAIN ACCELERATOR — The Food Chain Accelerator strives to create a more sustainable food system by empowering and equipping forward thinking food entrepreneurs to become investment- and partnership-ready for a bigger impact.
We achieve this by offering masterclasses, strategic partnerships, impact measurement, and investment guidance. Additionally, we pair entrepreneurs with experienced industry mentors and support them in applying their learnings through sparring sessions and dedicated time to refine and enhance their business strategies.

We cast a wide net across the ecosystem, adding over 280 companies to our database, contacting 250, and holding 53 in-depth calls that led to 21 applications with a strong fit.
Participants were then selected with support from an expert-committee, represented by Gemeente Amsterdam, Impact Hub Amsterdam, Green Protein Alliance, ROM InWest, Flevo Campus, Stichting DOEN, Fresh Ventures, Oedipus Brewing, and Fair Capital Impact Fund, combining public-sector perspective, entrepreneurship, protein-transition expertise, food innovation, and impact investing.
Over the coming months, these companies will take part in a program designed to sharpen their strategies, strengthen their impact, and prepare them for partnerships and investment. With masterclasses, mentorship from industry experts, and hands-on learning, the accelerator helps translate bold ideas into scalable, future-proof food solutions.

The Republic of Everyone (by Moyee Coffee) — Launched in 2022 as the world’s first “coffee commons,” The Republic builds a FairChain brand where coffee is grown and roasted in Kenya/East Africa and more value stays with local communities.
They’re scaling operations around factories, farmers, and forests, with a Nairobi roastery already in place and a Republic Café opening in Westlands, Nairobi this summer—aimed at making “quality = equality” more than a slogan.

Tortillería Taiyari — The first authentic Mexican tortillería & molino in the Netherlands, crafting tortillas, tostadas, and totopos the traditional way.
They nixtamalize organic/native corn and grind it on a volcanic-stone molino before pressing and baking in-house, with products shipped to restaurants, local grocers, and homes across Europe. Their mission centers on heritage and sustainability, sourcing native corn from Mexico and certified organic corn from the Netherlands.

Tuintje van Adam — Urban mushroom farm in Amsterdam-Noord (Noordoogst) using circular substrates from local residual streams (e.g., wood pellets and grain by-products) to grow premium varieties like lion’s mane, oyster, and shiitake for restaurants and consumers.
They run farm tours & workshops (every Saturday from 2025), supply horeca with a dedicated order list, and channel spent substrate back as compost—closing the loop in the city.

WOEKER by Harvest Hub — Maastricht-based café and corporate caterer serving Zuid-Limburg, offering next-day delivery for orders placed before 16:00 and free local delivery above €150.
Their menu is built around organic, pesticide-free ingredients, often sourced locally — including produce from their own nature-inclusive family farm. Under the WOEKER label, they develop products made with ingredients from food forests and wild nature to help valorize those harvests and introduce more people to this farming method.

Ingredients come from local, chemical-free farms like De Groente Amsterdammer, and the team behind it has catered plant-based meals for clients such as Patagonia, Adidas, Dekmantel, the University of Amsterdam, and Karl Lagerfeld—now piloting at UvA.
