Sustainable Food Ecosystem

The images on this page are part of our Fix Your Food campaign, where we share staggering food facts and ask you to become part of the solution: buy from, help, or start a sustainable food business!

The agro-food sector is one of the largest economic sectors in the Netherlands. In addition, the Netherlands is the second largest exporter of agro-food products worldwide. This means the choices we make here have global consequences. What if we used this position to make a real impact across the food chain and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable food system?

Impact Hub Amsterdam's Food Ecosystem

The Dutch food chain is in need of change. Though the agro-food sector is one of the largest economic sectors in the Netherlands, it is facing considerable challenges. It is responsible for a large share of national CO2 and nitrogen emissions, and the landscape is suffering from a loss of biodiversity. In addition, the Netherlands is the second largest exporter of agro-food products worldwide. This means the choices we make here have global consequences. What if we used this position to make real impact across the food chain and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable food system?

In our Food Ecosystem, we bring together and strengthen relationships between entrepreneurs, investors, government, and other organisations. Together, we create the resources necessary to spur innovation and co-creation for positive change in the food sector. Find our Ecosystem partners below.
