Impact Hub Amsterdam is part of a growing network of Impact Hubs worldwide. The first Hub opened in Islington, London, in 2005 when a group of friends set out to create a collaborative workspace for those who combine the rigor of the entrepreneur with the passion of the activist to address intractable issues in the world. Soon they discovered many other pioneering spirits busy trying to change the world - the ‘kitchen-table pioneers’ - working alone at home, or from cafés. The idea was born to create a habitat for social innovation that borrowed from the best of a serviced office, an enterprise agency, a friendly café and a political arts space.
In November 2008, The Hub Amsterdam opened its own doors after building a strong community of change-makers. Tatiana was the first to launch the conversations that attracted and brought together the very first social entrepreneurs in the city. Thomas and Frederike stepped in fully when the conversations moved towards realisation. Changing the name to Impact Hub in 2013, we underline the collective commitment towards impact. From our local community to being part of global network. We're about local leadership in action, supported by a peer-to-peer network and shared communities of practice. We want to recognise the many Impact Hub members and friends, team members that have been a part of co-building Impact Hub Amsterdam over the years.
We couldn't have done it without you!
