Ruben Walker and his African Clean Energy team in Amsterdam, London and Lesotho have been working hard towards the world-wide launch of the ACE 1 cookstove, also testing it with Impact Hub members in the Westerpark this summer as a clean air, clean place BBQ – with USB phone charger port!
Creating a worldwide cooking revolution
An active and valued Impact Hub member since April 2013, Ruben and his team reflect collaborative entrepreneurship in action through the Impact Hub:
- Having been selected to be part of an EU-wide scaling social innovation BENISI program to be supported in their scaling efforts over the next two years.
- Having been chosen as the leading story From Amsterdam to Maseru in the recent launch of the Impact Hub network’s Africa Seed program to enable new Impact Hubs in Africa and expand the possibilities for our members to work with like-valued entrepreneurs there.
And most importantly for them and those who have the opportunity to cook with a fresh breath of air from now on:
- They have partnered with fellow Impact Hub members Teach To Fish to design, develop and launch two important crowdfunding campaigns.
Both partners aim to join in creating a cooking revolution and fuel scaling of the ACE 1 to places where it is needed. Check out the quickly growing Dutch oneplanetcrowd crowdfunding campaign and the international Kickstarter campaign that kicks off this week! Member of the crowdfunding team Manon Monhemius will be travelling through Europe Impact Hub-to-Impact Hub taking the story – and the cookstove – on the road.
